Theater: Resident Playwright, Director

Jamie Elizabeth Maletz is a highly accomplished composer/playwright hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. She has written ten original musicals, 6 of which have enjoyed successful premieres in Massachusetts and Arizona. Maletz has received four ariZoni Award nominations for original script and music composition, and she is the Playwright-in-Residence at Anderson Performing Arts Center. In addition to play-writing, she composes and arranges music for choirs, play productions, video games, and film. She is a voice and theater teacher at both Anderson Institute of Music and Bella Vista College Preparatory School.

Maletz received her BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she designed her own major as a combination of music, theater, creative writing, and education. She spent her high school years at Boston Arts Academy, a performing arts high school from which she graduated as Valedictorian.

Jamie enjoys hiking, making horrible low-budget movies, jumping into large bodies of water, and being a goofball. She also has a minor obsession with the mythology of the ancient Romans and Greeks. She lives with her fiancé, Wesley, and four very badly behaved cats.
