Dance: Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater

Angela Brown is a seventh generation Arizona native, born at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She has studied dance since she was three years of age including, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics, hip hop and theater. She started her dance journey at Take Five Dance Academy where she studied for eight years. She has been a student at Anderson Institute of Music and Performing Arts since 2012. She is studying at Grand Canyon University for her bachelors in Dance Education.

Angela has had the privilege of performing many times including performances at the Herberger Theater in The Snow Queen Ballet, The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, and many local events and competitions. The summer after her high school graduation, Angela worked at a camp in New York where she taught inner city children different dance techniques. Angela continues to teach at Anderson Institute of Music and Performing Arts since 2014.

Angela continues to be an active leader in her church’s youth ministry, a member of her worship team, and organizes outreaches to aid the less fortunate. When Angela is not dancing, teaching, or helping out at church, she enjoys riding her horses, photography, and traveling.

Angela has been passionate about dance since she was able to walk. Her only request for her third birthday was dance lessons. Although Angela has studied many styles of dance, ballet and tap continue to be her favorite. She believes that dance should be about expressing your feelings and telling a story.

Angela’s favorite dance quote is, “Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”― Martha Graham
