Dance: Ballet, Creative Movement, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap

Angela Brown is a seventh generation Arizona native, born at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She has studied various types of dance since she was three years old such as ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics, hip hop and musical theatre. She started her dance journey at Take Five Dance Academy where she studied for eight years. She has been a student at the Anderson Institute of Music and Performing Arts since 2012. She is currently studying at Grand Canyon University for her bachelors in Dance Education.

Angela has been passionate about dance since she was able to walk. Her only request for her third birthday was dance lessons. Although Angela has studied many styles of dance, ballet and tap continue to be her favorite. She believes that dance should be about expressing your feelings and telling a story.

Angela has had the privilege of performing in various locations including the Herberger Theater in "The Snow Queen" ballet, The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, in addition to many local events and competitions. The summer after her high school graduation, Angela worked at a camp in New York where she taught inner city children different dance techniques. She has been teaching at the Anderson Institute of Music and Performing Arts since 2014.

When Angela is not dancing, she enjoys passing her time by riding horses, practicing photography or traveling. Furthermore, Angela is an active leader in her church’s youth ministry, a member of her worship team, and organizes outreaches to aid the less fortunate.

Angela’s favorite quote about dance is, “Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”― Martha Graham
